Target Information

Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) is a protein tyrosine kinase involved in specific cytokine receptor signaling pathways and is mutated in polycythemia vera.
JAK2 contains the catalytic domain (JH1) and mediates phosphorylation of STAT proteins, which translocate to the nucleus to regulate gene transcription.
JAK2 is essential for IFN gamma-receptor complex initiation, with JAK1 acting as an amplifier.
Mutations in JAK2 are associated with disorders such as Budd-Chiari syndrome, Polycythemia vera, Thrombocythemia 3, Myelofibrosis, and Acute myelogenous leukemia.
