Target Information
SIRT2 (Sirtuin for Silent Mating Type Information 2-Homolog) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase (NDAC) involved in gene silencing, cell cycle regulation, and DNA damage repair.
It may act as a tumor suppressor in human gliomas and serve as a molecular marker for these cells.
SIRT2 functions as a redox sensor regulating muscle gene expression in response to food intake and exercise.
During mitosis, SIRT2 is phosphorylated in late G2 phase, throughout M phase, and into cytokinesis.
