PA1-020 detects FK506 binding protein 51 kDa (FKBP51) in canine, hamster, human, mouse and rat tissues.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting an ~51 kDa FKBP51 protein in HeLa cell lysate, rat kidney, and rat/mouse testes extracts.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C(394) Q K K A K E H N E R D R R(407) of human FKBP51.
There is a single amino acid substitution (K396 to R396) between human and mouse FKBP51.
PA1-020 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-078) is available for neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

FKBP5 belongs to the immunophilin protein family, involved in immunoregulation and cellular processes such as protein folding and trafficking.
It acts as a cis-trans prolyl isomerase binding FK506 and rapamycin, mediating calcineurin inhibition.
FKBP5 interacts with mature hetero-oligomeric progesterone receptor complexes along with HSP90 and P23 proteins.
The FKBP5 gene has multiple polyadenylation sites and alternative splicing, resulting in several transcript variants.
