Product Specific Information
PA1-018 detects phosphorylated heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) from rat and human tissues.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.
Immunocytochemical staining of phospho-HSP27 (Ser15) in HeLa cells with this antibody shows cytoplasmic localization.
The immunogen is a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to residues L(10) L R G P (pS) W D P F R C(21) of human HSP27, 81% homologous to mouse, rat, and hamster sequences.
The peptide (Cat. # PEP-187) is available for neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
HSPB1 (Heat Shock Protein Beta-1, also known as HSP27) is a small heat shock protein functioning as a molecular chaperone that maintains denatured proteins in a folding-competent state.
It plays roles in stress resistance and actin organization, regulating processes such as phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins.
Mutations in HSPB1 can lead to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
