For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18) is a type A (acidic) low molecular weight keratin that pairs with cytokeratin 8. It is expressed in epithelial tissues of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital tracts, as well as in endocrine, exocrine, and mesothelial cells.
CK18 is found mainly in non-squamous epithelia and is present in most adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas, but not in squamous cell carcinomas. Hepatocellular carcinomas express only CK8 and CK18.
Mutations in the CK18 gene are linked to cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encode the same protein.
Cytokeratin expression patterns assist in distinguishing epithelial malignancy types and are valuable in tumor differential diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
