Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and ensuring consistency through recombinant production.

Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitopes and providing higher sensitivity for low-abundance targets—these antibodies have a defined mixture of light and heavy chains that are reproducibly generated in every lot. This eliminates the biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody.” The product name has changed to “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody,” but physical properties and performance remain unchanged.

Target Information

Anti-fluorescent dye antibodies recognize specific fluorophores and often quench their fluorescence. Such antibodies, including those targeting fluorescein, can serve as cell-impermeant probes to determine internalization of fluorescent dye-conjugated molecules via endocytic or pinocytic processes.

The Alexa Fluor® 488 dye has spectral properties and quantum yield nearly identical to FITC but produces brighter, more photostable conjugates. These properties make it ideal for imaging and other applications requiring enhanced sensitivity and stability.
