Product Specific Information
The antibody detects a 30 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of EB1 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human HeLa, mouse brain, and rat PC12 cells. It also detects EB1 by immunocytochemistry in HeLa and A431 cells.
Target Information
EB1 family proteins are evolutionarily conserved proteins that bind microtubule plus-ends and centrosomes, regulating microtubule dynamics and organization. The MAPRE genes encode EB1 family proteins: MAPRE1 (EB1), MAPRE2 (RP1), and MAPRE3 (EBF3). These proteins are ubiquitously expressed. The EB1 (MAPRE1) gene, located at 20q11.2, can fuse with MLL in adult pro-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. EB1 interacts with the APC tumor-suppressor protein and plays key roles in microtubule dynamics, cell polarity, and chromosome stability.
