Product Specific Information
This antibody detects a 36 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of EB2 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human HeLa, mouse brain, and rat PC12 cells. It also detects EB2 by immunocytochemistry in HeLa and A431 cells.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene shares significant homology with the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein-binding EB1 gene family. Although the function of this protein is not fully understood, its homology suggests a role in tumorigenesis of colorectal cancers and in the proliferative control of normal cells. This gene may belong to the intermediate/early gene family involved in the signal transduction cascade downstream of the TCR. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
