Clone M019 detects a 20 kDa band corresponding to the molecular mass of cyclophilin B on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human LNCaP, MeWo, MCF7, and MDA-MB-231 cell lysates, as well as full-length recombinant cyclophilin B, but does not detect recombinant cyclophilin A.
This antibody can be used for Western blot, immunoprecipitation, protein ELISA, and immunocytochemistry.

Target Information

Immunophilins are a family of soluble cytosolic receptors capable of binding to immunosuppressant agents such as cyclosporin A (CsA) or FK506.
Proteins binding FK506 are termed FK506 Binding Proteins (FKBPs), and those binding cyclosporin A are called cyclophilins (CyPs).
Both CyP:CsA and FKBP:FK506 complexes inhibit calcineurin, a calcium and calmodulin-dependent protein phosphatase involved in T-cell activation, providing a mechanism of immunosuppression by CsA and FK506.
Immunophilins function as peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans-isomerases (PPIases), accelerating protein folding both in vivo and in vitro by catalyzing slow steps in proline-containing protein rearrangement.
