Target Information
FXN (Frataxin) is a mitochondrial protein belonging to the FRATAXIN family.
It plays a role in regulating mitochondrial iron transport and respiration.
Expansion of the intronic trinucleotide repeat GAA in the FXN gene causes Friedreich ataxia.
