Product Specific Information
MA3-033 detects Cytochrome P450 3A5 from HEK293 and HepG2 human cell lines, and from bovine liver and pancreas samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot applications, detecting a ~54 kDa band corresponding to Cytochrome P450 3A5.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues E S R D G T L S G E, conjugated to ovalbumin.
Target Information
CYP3A5 is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. These monooxygenases catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids.
This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum, and its expression is induced by glucocorticoids and some pharmacological agents.
The enzyme metabolizes drugs such as nifedipine and cyclosporine, as well as steroid hormones including testosterone, progesterone, and androstenedione.
