It has been successfully used in Western blot and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin) applications.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~54 kDa band representing Cytochrome P450 3A7.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues E S R D E T V S G A, conjugated to ovalbumin.
Target Information
CYP3A7 encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes.
These proteins are monooxygenases catalyzing reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids.
This enzyme hydroxylates testosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone 3-sulphate, contributing to estriol formation during pregnancy.
It also metabolizes drugs such as aflatoxin B1.
CYP3A7 is part of a cytochrome P450 gene cluster on chromosome 7q21.1.
Transcript variants have been described, though their normal production is uncertain.
