Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure recombinant murine IL-3. Anti-Murine IL-3-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated. Lyophilized from sterile-filtered PBS solution.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect mIL-3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-3 (500-P53) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant mIL-3.

Western Blot:
To detect mIL-3 by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant mIL-3 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also known as Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils.
IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic lineages.
These functions are often enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines.

Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity at the amino acid level, and IL-3 bioactivity is highly species-specific (e.g., human IL-3 is inactive on mouse cells).
IL-3 supports proliferation of various hematopoietic cell types and is involved in cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, and neurotrophic activities.
