• AA Sequence of recombinant protein:

• Preparation:
  Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-5. Anti-Murine IL-5-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

• Sandwich ELISA:
  For detection of Murine IL-5 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-5 (500-P55) as a capture antibody, it detects at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-5.

• Western Blot:
  For detection of Murine IL-5 by Western blot, use 0.1–0.2 mg/mL. Detection limit for Recombinant Murine IL-5 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

• Packaging:
  500-P55BT-1MG will be provided as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. It regulates eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 levels are associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.
The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer whose beta subunit is shared with receptors for IL-3 and CSF2 (GM-CSF). IL-5, IL-4, IL-13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31 and are coordinately regulated by long-range elements.
