Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-4. Anti-Murine IL-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine IL-4 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine IL-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. In conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine IL-4 (500-P54Bt) as a detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-4.

Western Blot:
To detect Murine IL-4 by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Murine IL-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells, serving as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 exhibits a broad range of biological actions and shares receptor components with IL-13, contributing to overlapping functions. STAT6 plays a crucial role in mediating IL-4 signaling. The IL-4 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine gene cluster that includes IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2. IL-4, IL-13, and IL-5 are co-regulated by long-range elements across approximately 120 kb. A known splice variant, IL-4 delta 2, has also been identified.
