Target Information

WIZ (also known as ZNF803)는 처음에 생쥐 소뇌 cDNA 라이브러리 스크린에서 확인되었으며, 소뇌의 과립 세포층, 치아이랑, 후각망울 등에서 발현이 관찰되었습니다. 이후 연구에서 WIZ는 전반적으로 발현되는 핵 단백질로 확인되었습니다.
이 단백질은 히스톤 메틸트랜스퍼레이스 G9a와 공위치하며, euchromatic 영역에서 H3K9의 단일 및 이중 메틸화를 담당합니다. 또한 CtBP 계열의 전사 공동억제 단백질과 결합할 수 있으며, G9a/GLP 복합체를 CtBP 공동억제 기전에 연결하여 복합체 안정성과 유전자 침묵 조절에 관여할 수 있는 것으로 제안됩니다.
