Recombinant rabbit polyclonal antibodies are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies. These antibodies offer consistency across lots, as the same population of light and heavy chains can be reproduced, eliminating biological variability typical of traditional polyclonal antibody production. Functionally, they recognize multiple epitopes on the target, resulting in enhanced detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.

Target Information

CDK4/cyclin D3 serine/threonine kinase is a dimeric protein complex involved in cell proliferation control during the G1 phase of the cell cycle. CDK4 forms a complex with D-type cyclins and is inhibited by p16 (cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor-2). It mediates phosphorylation of the C-terminal region of Rb protein, leading to transcriptional repression of the E2F complex. CDK4 associates with CDC37 and HSP90 and phosphorylates specific residues on Rb protein distinct from CDK6, such as Thr826.
