Product Specific Information
- Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
- Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.

This antibody is directed against human STAT2 protein. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with STAT2 protein from human, rat (73%), and mouse (76%) based on sequence homology. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.
Target Information
STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, forming homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to act as transcription activators.
Upon interferon (IFN) stimulation, STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and ISGF3G (p48), functioning as a transactivator without direct DNA binding ability. STAT2 interacts with transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) and is implicated in blocking IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.
