Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of PA5-77811 was sufficient for detection of UVRAG on HeLa cell lysates using Goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Predicted molecular weight: approximately 78.1 kDa.
Observed molecular weights: 75–90 kDa range.
Target Information
UVRAG is predicted to contain a coiled-coil structure and may be metabolically unstable due to a strong PEST domain. It interacts with Beclin 1, activating autophagy and inhibiting tumorigenicity in human colon cancer cells.
The UVRAG gene is located on human chromosome 11q13.5 and complements the ultraviolet sensitivity of xeroderma pigmentosum group C cells.
This gene is highly conserved evolutionarily and plays an important role in cell metabolism.
Chromosomal aberrations involving UVRAG are linked to left-right axis malformation, and mutations are associated with colon cancer.
The protein is highly expressed in human brain, lung, kidney, and liver.
