Product Specific Information

A 1:1,000 dilution of PA5-77818 was sufficient for detection of ERK1/2 in 20 µg of HeLa cell lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis. Detects approximately 44 kDa (ERK1) and approximately 42 kDa (ERK2).

Target Information

MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway. ERK1 regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions in differentiated cells. It is activated by various stimuli including growth factors, cytokines, viral infection, and GPCR ligands. ERK1 translocates to the nucleus upon activation and phosphorylates nuclear targets, influencing proliferation, differentiation, and cell cycle progression. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
