Target Information
Bassoon은 약 420 kDa의 presynaptic nerve terminal에 존재하는 단백질로, 시냅스 소포 순환의 구조적·기능적 조직화에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질은 알려진 단백질 패밀리에 속하지 않으며, 인간, 마우스, 랫트 간 96%의 서열 동일성을 가집니다.
Bassoon은 두 개의 double-zinc finger, 세 개의 coiled-coil 영역, 두 개의 polyglutamine domain을 포함하는 것으로 예측됩니다.
Polyglutamine domain은 Huntingtin과 같은 단백질에서 신경퇴행성 질환과 관련된 영역으로 알려져 있습니다.
Bassoon은 시냅스 말단의 postsynaptic density 반대쪽에 집중되어 있으며, GABA(A) 및 GluR1 수용체와 공위치하는 것으로 관찰됩니다.
또한 presynaptic 단백질 Piccolo와 함께 hippocampal neuron에서 공위치하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
