Product Specific Information
This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with purified, recombinant Human N-cadherin (Met1–Ala724) and conjugated with FITC under optimum conditions. Unreacted FITC was removed.
Storage: Store at 2–8°C for up to 12 months without detectable loss of activity. Protect from prolonged light exposure. Do not freeze. Sodium azide is toxic to cells; dispose of properly with large volumes of water.
Target Information
N-cadherin is a 140 kDa transmembrane protein that mediates calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion. It plays a critical role in morphogenetic movements during development and regulates cell surface adhesion through homotypic interactions. Its function depends on association with the actin cytoskeleton via catenin proteins, regulated by phosphorylation of beta-catenin. N-cadherin contains five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail, essential for gastrulation and left-right asymmetry establishment.
