Description:
The MP6-XT22 antibody reacts with mouse tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF alpha), a 17 kDa cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, NK cells, and CD4(+) T cells. TNF alpha has cytolytic activity against various tumor cells and plays a key role in immune regulation. It forms dimers and trimers and also exists as a 26 kDa membrane-bound form.

Reported for use in intracellular staining for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining with flow cytometric analysis. Recommended use ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the TNF superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. It appears as a 17 kDa band on SDS-PAGE and can exist as multimers. Knockout studies in mice indicate a neuroprotective role, and TNF alpha causes tumor necrosis in tumor-bearing mice. It is also involved in immune responses to infections and in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, insulin resistance, and cancer.
