Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat MCP-1 (CCL2). Anti-Rat MCP-1 (CCL2)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat MCP-1 (MCAF) by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat MCP-1 (MCAF) (500-P76) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat MCP-1 (MCAF).
Western Blot:
To detect Rat MCP-1 (MCAF) by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat MCP-1 (MCAF) is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The encoded protein belongs to the CXC subfamily of cytokines, characterized by two cysteines separated by a single amino acid.
It shows chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. It is implicated in diseases with monocytic infiltrates such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis, binding to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
