Target Information
NTRK3 (TRKC) belongs to the neurotrophic factor family of polypeptides essential for development and maintenance of the mammalian nervous system. Known substrates for TRK receptors include SHC, PI-3 kinase, and PLCG1. The different isoforms display distinct signaling properties. The protein is widely expressed, mainly in nervous tissue. Isoform B is expressed more abundantly in adult brain compared to fetal brain. TRKC undergoes ligand-mediated autophosphorylation and contains two immunoglobulin-like C2-type domains and two leucine-rich (LRR) repeats.
