Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • For formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

In response to environmental stress, cells increase expression of heat shock or stress proteins.
HSPB1 (heat shock protein beta-1, also known as HSP27) is a small molecular chaperone that maintains denatured proteins in a folding-competent state.
It contributes to stress resistance and actin organization.
Through its chaperone activity, HSP27 regulates phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins.
Mutations in the HSPB1 gene are associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
