Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
HSPB1 (Heat Shock Protein Beta-1, also known as HSP27) is a small heat shock protein that functions as a molecular chaperone, maintaining denatured proteins in a folding-competent state. It contributes to stress resistance and actin organization. Through its chaperone activity, HSP27 regulates various biological processes including phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins.
Mutations in the HSPB1 gene are associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
