This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Galectin 7 protein.
Target Information
Galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins involved in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Expression studies show Galectin 7 is specifically expressed in keratinocytes and predominantly found in stratified squamous epithelium. A duplicate copy of this gene (GeneID: 653499) is located on the opposite strand of chromosome 19.
