Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if solution is not clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody is directed against bovine S100 protein.
BLAST analysis suggests 100% homology with bovine S100, 98% with primate S100α, and 94% with mouse, rat, and dog sequences.
Cross-reactivity is expected with most mammalian S100 proteins; specific reactivity with other sources has not been determined.
Homologies for the S100β chain are similar.
Target Information
S100 proteins are calcium-binding proteins related to calmodulin and troponin C.
- S100A consists of α and β chains.
- S100B consists of two β chains.
S100 proteins are expressed in antigen-presenting cells, including Langerhans cells in the skin and interdigitating reticulum cells in lymph node paracortex.
