This antibody is directed against mouse NRF1. BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with NRF1 from mouse, human, chimpanzee, dog, rat, chicken, frog, and zebrafish based on high sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with NRF1 homologues from other species has not been determined.
Target Information
NRF1 encodes a transcription factor that homodimerizes and activates expression of key metabolic genes involved in cellular growth, respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. It is also associated with regulation of neurite outgrowth.
Alternate splice variants encoding the same or different isoforms have been described, though not fully characterized.
Note: NRF1 (nuclear respiratory factor 1) is distinct from NFE2L1 (nuclear factor, erythroid-derived 2-like 1), which sometimes shares the same symbol in databases.
