Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of p70 S6 Kinase only when phosphorylated at Thr444, a site historically referenced as Thr421.
Target Information
RPS6KB1 (p70S6K) is a serine/threonine kinase containing two non-identical catalytic domains that phosphorylate several residues of the S6 ribosomal protein. It is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and plays a key role in growth factor-regulated cell proliferation, cell motility, immune response, and tissue repair. Acting downstream of phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase, its main physiological target is the S6 ribosomal protein, which promotes protein synthesis. Amplification and overexpression of p70 S6 kinase are observed in certain breast cancer cell lines.
