Antibody detects endogenous levels of p70 S6 Kinase only when phosphorylated at Ser447, which site historically referenced as Ser424.
Target Information
RPS6KB1 (p70S6K) is a serine/threonine kinase with two non-identical kinase catalytic domains that phosphorylates several residues of the S6 ribosomal protein. p70 S6 kinase is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and plays a crucial role in growth factor-regulated cell proliferation, cell motility, immune response, and tissue repair. It acts downstream of phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase, targeting the S6 ribosomal protein to upregulate protein synthesis. Amplification and overexpression of the DNA region encoding p70 S6 kinase are observed in some breast cancer cell lines.
