Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of p70 S6 Kinase only when phosphorylated at Ser434, which site historically referenced as Ser411.
Target Information
RPS6KB1 (p70S6K) is a serine/threonine kinase with two non-identical kinase catalytic domains that phosphorylates several residues of the S6 ribosomal protein. p70 S6 kinase is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and is essential in growth factor–regulated cell proliferation, pathways involving cell motility (such as metastasis), immune response, and tissue repair. It acts downstream of phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase, with the S6 ribosomal protein as its main physiological target, leading to increased protein synthesis and cell proliferation. Amplification and overexpression of p70 S6 kinase are observed in some breast cancer cell lines.
