Target Information
The ARL6 gene encodes a protein belonging to the ARF-like (ADP ribosylation factor-like) sub-family of GTP-binding proteins involved in intracellular trafficking regulation. Mutations in ARL6 are associated with Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS). Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants, including a vision-specific isoform.
