Product Specific Information

Description:
The SHLR17 monoclonal antibody reacts with human interleukin (IL)-17F, a 34 kDa homodimeric member of the IL-17 family. IL-17F and IL-17A are primarily produced by Th17 cells and exhibit overlapping yet distinct functions. The IL-17F receptor complex (IL-17RA/IL-17RC) mediates pro-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine secretion, promoting neutrophil recruitment.

Applications Reported:
For use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested for intracellular staining of normal human peripheral blood cells using the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product #88-8824-00). Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Violet™ 650 (BV650) is a tandem dye (Excitation: 407 nm; Emission: 649 nm) optimized for cytometers with a violet laser. Use Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product #00-4409-75) or Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product #SB-4401-42) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Handling and Storage:

• Protect from light (photo-oxidation sensitive).
• Fixation: Compatible with IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54).
• Not compatible with methanol-based fixation.
• Store at 4°C in the dark; do not freeze.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8)
A cytokine of the IL-17 family produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils. It plays a role in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokine and chemokine expression in epithelial, endothelial, fibroblast, and eosinophil cells. IL-17F acts as a homodimer or IL-17A/F heterodimer, binding to IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils. It is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
