Product Specific Information
The 104D2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD117 (c-Kit), also known as Steel factor receptor and stem cell factor receptor. CD117 is a 145 kDa tyrosine kinase receptor expressed by hematopoietic progenitor cell subsets and mast cells. Interaction with Steel factor promotes proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells and mast cell maturation. It is also expressed by melanocytes and plays a role in their activation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested with normal human peripheral blood cells, usable at 5 µL (0.125 µg)/test. A test corresponds to staining a sample in 100 µL final volume (10^5–10^8 cells/test).
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, emitting at 445 nm and excited at 405 nm (Violet Laser). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
KIT (c-KIT) is a proto-oncogene encoding a type 3 transmembrane receptor for mast cell growth factor (MGF or stem cell factor). KIT regulates growth and activation of various hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. Mutations in KIT are linked to gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, acute myelogenous leukemia, and piebaldism. Activation of c-Kit triggers autophosphorylation and downstream signaling via Ras/ERK, PI3K, PLC-γ, and JAK/STAT pathways, essential for hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, and gametogenesis.
