Target Information
STING (TMEM173) is a 379-amino-acid signaling protein involved in innate immune signaling. It activates NF-kappa-B and IRF3 transcription pathways to induce type I interferons (IFN-α, IFN-β), establishing an antiviral state. STING may also function as a translocon influencing interferon induction and mediates apoptotic signaling via MHC-II association. It is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, cell membrane, and mitochondrial outer membrane, and is ubiquitously expressed across tissues.
