Target Information
MIF (macrophage migration inhibitory factor)는 최초로 발견된 사이토카인 중 하나로, T 세포에서 유래된 인자로서 대식세포의 무작위 이동을 억제하는 역할을 합니다 (Weiser 1989). 이후 MIF는 뇌하수체 호르몬으로 재발견되어 면역계 내에서 글루코코르티코이드 작용에 대한 조절 호르몬으로 작용함이 밝혀졌습니다 (Bernhagen 1993, Mitchell 1995). MIF는 대식세포와 T 세포에서 글루코코르티코이드 농도에 반응하여 분비되며, 면역세포 활성화 및 사이토카인 생성에 대한 스테로이드의 면역억제 효과를 상쇄합니다 (Bucala 1998). 따라서 MIF는 염증 및 면역 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
