Target Information

IGFBP3 belongs to the insulin-like growth factor binding protein (IGFBP) family. The encoded protein contains both an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. It forms a ternary complex with insulin-like growth factor acid-labile subunit (IGFALS) and either IGF-I or IGF-II, which circulates in plasma, prolonging IGF half-life and modulating receptor interactions.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
Diseases associated with IGFBP3 include Insulin-Like Growth Factor I and Acid-Labile Subunit Deficiency.
