Target Information
POFUT1는 내형질세망(endoplasmic reticulum)에 위치한 O-Fuc family의 glycosyltransferase로, 여러 세포 표면 및 분비 단백질의 EGF-like repeats의 serine 또는 threonine 잔기에 O-fucose를 결합시킵니다.
POFUT2와 달리, POFUT1은 thrombospondin type 1 repeats에도 fucose를 전달할 수 있습니다.
POFUT1의 여러 기질은 리간드 유도 수용체 신호전달에 관여하며, 대표적으로 Notch 단백질이 있습니다.
POFUT1이 결핍된 mouse ES 세포는 세포 표면에 정상적인 수준의 Notch 수용체를 가지지만, Notch 리간드 결합 및 신호전달 기능을 잃게 됩니다.
