For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The SMN complex plays a catalytic role in assembling small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), fundamental components of the spliceosome. It is crucial for pre-mRNA splicing.
Most spliceosomal snRNPs contain Sm proteins (SNRPB, SNRPD1, SNRPD2, SNRPD3, SNRPE, SNRPF, SNRPG) forming a heptameric ring on the small nuclear RNA.
In the cytosol, Sm proteins are initially trapped in an inactive 6S pICln-Sm complex by chaperone CLNS1A. The SMN complex dissociates CLNS1A and facilitates Sm protein transfer to the SMN-Sm complex, triggering core snRNP assembly and nuclear transport.
