Target Information
E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin)은 cadherin(superfamily of calcium-dependent adhesion proteins)에 속하는 고전적 카드헤린 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 다섯 개의 세포외 cadherin 반복부위, 막관통 영역, 그리고 고도로 보존된 세포질 말단부를 포함하는 칼슘 의존성 세포 간 접착 당단백질입니다.
CDH1 유전자의 변이는 위암, 유방암, 대장암, 갑상선암, 난소암 등과 연관되어 있으며, E-cadherin의 기능 상실은 종양의 증식, 침윤, 전이에 기여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
또한 E-cadherin의 세포외 도메인은 세균의 숙주세포 부착을 매개하고, 세포질 도메인은 내재화에 필수적입니다. 발현 감소 또는 소실은 암의 침윤성과 전이 가능성과 상관관계를 보입니다.
E-cadherin은 조직 구조 유지 및 세포 성장 조절에 중요한 역할을 하며, 인간에서는 염색체 16번에 위치한 CDH1 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다.
