For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed on T helper cells but may also be found on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression occurs in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 participates in early T-cell activation via association with the T-cell receptor complex and the tyrosine kinase Lck. It may also mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
