Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD105 (Endoglin), a 90 kDa type I integral membrane homodimer glycoprotein expressed on vascular endothelial cells (small and large vessels), activated monocytes and tissue macrophages, stromal cells of certain tissues including bone marrow, pre-B lymphocytes in fetal marrow, and erythroid precursors in fetal and adult bone marrow. It is also present on syncytiotrophoblasts in the placenta throughout pregnancy.
Target Information
CD105 (Endoglin) is a type I transmembrane protein highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells. It exists as an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer. Upregulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting its role as a proliferation-associated endothelial marker. CD105 binds to TGF beta 1 and 3 with high affinity but not to TGF beta 2.
