This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD89, a 55–100 kDa glycoprotein serving as a receptor for IgA and expressed mainly on granulocytes, monocytes, and macrophages.
Recommended dilution: 10 µL for 100 µL of whole blood or 1×10⁶ cells in suspension.
Target Information
The CD89 (FCAR) gene encodes a receptor for the Fc region of IgA, belonging to the immunoglobulin gene superfamily. This transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed on myeloid lineage cells such as neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils. It mediates immune responses to pathogens by binding IgA-opsonized targets and triggering processes such as phagocytosis, antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, and release of inflammatory mediators. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
