Product Specific Information

The GK1.5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD4 molecule, a 55 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by thymocytes, mature T cells, and dendritic cells. CD4 binds to MHC class II on antigen-presenting cells and plays an essential role in T-cell development and function.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes; ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume)
• Excitation/Emission: 405 nm / 780 nm (Violet laser)
• Recommended Filter: 780/60 bandpass

Notes:

• Protect from light; Super Bright 780 is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation.
• When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.
• Compensation may vary depending on bead type; set compensation using cells when possible.
• Samples can be fixed in IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222) or Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in dark with minimal brightness loss.

Target Information

CD4 antigen is a co-receptor for MHC class II molecules and HIV. It is primarily expressed in T-helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. CD4 expression is found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain non-lymphoid tissues. It plays a key role in T-cell activation and may mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases.
