Product Specific Information

The 145-2C11 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. CD3e, along with other CD3 subunits (gamma and delta), is essential for proper assembly and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and mature T cells.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry on mouse splenocytes (≤1.0 µg/test). Optimal concentration should be determined empirically.

Target Information

The CD3 complex is crucial for transducing antigen-recognition signals in T cells and regulating TCR surface expression. It consists of CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, encoded by closely linked genes on chromosome 11. CD3 participates in T cell activation, growth regulation, and signal transduction. Expressed on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes and 65–85% of thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
