Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed in these systems. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

STIM1 (stromal interacting molecule; also known as GOK) acts as a sensor of calcium depletion within the endoplasmic reticulum and transduces the signal to Orai1, the presumptive CRAC channel at the plasma membrane.
Upon a decrease in luminal calcium concentration, STIM1 oligomerizes and induces Orai1 activation, enabling extracellular calcium entry into the cytoplasm. STIM1 is also associated with microtubule growth ends and participates in endoplasmic reticulum tubule extension.
