Description:
The RMV-7 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD51 molecule (integrin alpha V chain), an approximately 120 kDa surface protein that associates with beta subunits (β3/CD61, β1/CD29, β5, β6) to form receptors for extracellular matrix components. CD51/CD61 heterodimers are expressed by platelets, T cells, and granulocytes, mediating adhesion to fibrinogen, fibronectin, vitronectin, and thrombospondin.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, and functional assays. Soluble RMV-7 blocks adhesion to fibronectin and vitronectin, while immobilized RMV-7 induces activation.
(Use Functional Grade purified RMV-7, Product #16-0512, for functional assays.)

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤1 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Optimal titration required per assay.

Integrins are heterodimeric membrane proteins composed of α and β chains. The αV chain undergoes post-translational cleavage into disulfide-linked heavy and light chains, forming integrins with β1, β3, β5, β6, and β8 chains.
The αVβ3 integrin, also known as the Vitronectin receptor (VNR), plays a role in cell adhesion and signal transduction. Integrin β3 (ITGB3) pairs with αIIb in platelets and participates in adhesion and signaling processes.
