Target Information
THEM2 (ACOT13)는 hotdog-fold superfamily에 속하며 thioesterase 활성을 가집니다. 긴 사슬의 acyl-CoA(예: myristoyl-, palmitoyl-CoA)에 대해 높은 활성을 보입니다.
이 단백질은 심장, 신장, 간, 뇌 등 여러 조직에서 높게 발현되며, β-tubulin과 함께 미세소관에 공존합니다.
THEM2는 지방산 대사에 중요한 역할을 하는 StarD 단백질과 상호작용하며, StarD의 존재 시 THEM2의 촉매 활성이 증가합니다.
현재 최소 두 가지 isoform이 알려져 있습니다.
